fast food nation

A couple of years back I read Eric Schlosser’s Fast Food Nation, and haven’t eaten takeaway convenience food since. It’s not so much a health issue – virtually nothing else passed my lips in the late eighties and early nineties, including a two year period where the only vegetables consumed were those that accompanied cheeseburgers and kebabs – and I certainly don’t feel like I suffered terribly as a result. The thing that stopped me was the kind of economics you choose to support by stepping under those golden arches. Anyhow, I’m only mentioning this because I’ve found the fast-food equivalent of a diseased lung photo that a smoker might use to ween themselves off nicotine. Bon Appetit.
